Building and organizational MRI

An energy system that fits your business operations

Your energy demand arises in your daily work. Machines start simultaneously, processes must keep running, and solar power becomes available at times that do not always coincide with consumption. An investment therefore requires insight into both the building and the business operations.

With a Building and Organization MRI, we map out that coherence. We investigate where energy is lost, which power peaks are relevant, and what is needed for production and continuity. We then compare improvements in usage, technology, generation, storage, and control.

What we include

Processes and planning

Which installations use energy, when do they run, and which functions must not fail? We also look at idling, simultaneity, and shiftable tasks.

Gebouw en bestaande installaties

We inventory the existing technology and the possibilities to utilize it better. Depending on the location, this concerns, for example, drives, compressed air, ventilation, pumps, heat, cooling, solar panels, and charging points.

Energy supply and costs

We connect consumption data with the grid connection, own generation, feed-in, and contract terms. This clarifies which costs or limitations can be influenced by technology.

Practical cases

File analysis and follow-up advice | Building and organization MRI

Van den Berg Staalbouw: de energievraag van de productie

For Van den Berg Staalbouw, EPowerOne has compiled energy data, contract documents, and previous proposals for storage. The follow-up approach focuses on current operations, including the new plasma cutters that are now in use.

The advice focuses on the actual power demand. How high are the peaks, how long do they last, and do they limit production? This information is necessary to determine what smarter planning and control can yield and when storage provides additional value.

The file analysis has led to concrete advice for additional measurements and the comparison of measures. The potential value of a battery is linked to production and costs. A current power shortage or a realized saving has not yet been determined in this phase.

The case shows how a Building and Organization MRI helps to ask the right follow-up question before an investment is developed.

The Eel Factory: testing solar power and storage against usage

For De Palingfabriek, EPowerOne assessed electricity bills, contracts, and previous proposals for solar panels and batteries in conjunction. The continuous energy demand and the reliable operation of business processes form the starting point.

The advice is to re-evaluate solar panels based on actual daily consumption. The added value of a battery is assessed separately. This clarifies which investment contributes to direct self-consumption, peak shaving, or other specific business needs.

The file analysis resulted in a substantiated research and investment route. The next step is to supplement consumption data and process information so that the design can be based on representative conditions.

This case demonstrates our way of working: first understand the energy demand and business operations, then determine the appropriate combination of improvement, generation, storage, and control.

De volgende stap

From file research to design and execution

We start with the available documents and agree on which measurements are necessary. The analysis provides a sequence of measures. We compare the current situation with smarter usage, more efficient control, and appropriate investments. We assess solar panels and storage both separately and in combination.

You will receive a substantiated overview of the preferred options, technical conditions, expected costs, and the effect on your business operations. We also record which performance metrics must be tested after implementation.

EPowerOne can further design the chosen solution and realize it together with technical partners. In doing so, we coordinate existing installations, any new generation and storage, and the control systems. The necessary specialists and responsibilities become part of the assignment.

Solar carports, charging facilities, and power control for existing PV installations have given us experience with the interaction between generation, consumption, and connection. At Van den Berg Staalbouw, the follow-up question lies in the current production load and the potential value of storage. At De Palingfabriek, the emphasis is on the continuous energy demand and the direct use of solar power. For both locations, a file analysis with follow-up advice has been prepared; measurements and implementation form separate follow-up steps.
